Quality Industries was named as winner of the 2005 Excellence in Manufacturing Awards in the Large Manufacturer category during ceremonies January 20th in Nashville. "Quality Industries fabricates aluminum and steel component parts for some of the country's largest companies, but has been something of a prophet without honor in its own land. But no more." wrote J. Holly Dolloff of the Nashville Business Journal.
Mr. Fred Appel accepted the award on behalf of the organization and credited their success to the dedication and teamwork of all their employees. He also noted that product quality and responsiveness have been the benchmarks for their performance. LEAN manufacturing techniques and a proficient team, supplemented by 4 black belts and 12 green belts in Six Sigma, guide operations toward tough goals in effeciency and continuous improvement.
"Evidently on the fast track to continued success in the future, Quality Industries beat out computer giant Dell for the award" writes Mark Lewis of The Daily News Journal. In 2004, Quality Industries completed a plant expansion project, added capital equipment and increased employment in support of their strategic plan. Congratulations to Quality Industries for another prestigious accomplishment.
